Keynote problem

When I open some document that I totally created with iWork09, it tells me that I need a newer version of keynote. I tried a few things a few weeks ago to try to fix it (don't remember what exactly now) and it seemed to work, but now I have the same problem. I seem to only be able to open it if I go to Open With and then navigate to iWork 09.

Time machine dead

Seems not to recognize the disk i set up for it a long time ago. I guess I'll try making a new one. Annoying. Haven't backed up in 22 days.
